Our Platform

Climate change is a global crisis beyond the boundaries of the Town of Manlius. It is my goal to be a champion of sustainability by focusing on solutions we can create, rather than the problems we face. I am committed to moving forward with the Clean Energy Communities and the Climate Smart Communities programs through the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), and will support environmental policies and changes to the Town Code that will benefit the Town and its residents and businesses.

As a Town Councilor, I led the effort to adopt the Unified Solar Permit and to opt the Town back into the property tax exemption for solar energy. This makes it easier for residents of Manlius to access renewable energy. Additionally, I am leading Manlius on the road to becoming a  renewable energy pioneer, as we are currently in the process of developing a Community Solar array on the Town’s retired landfill. If this project is successful, it will offset all of the Town’s electricity needs as well as that of an estimated 300 households.

As a business owner in the community, and as a professional in personal and business finance, I understand the needs of our business community. I have leveraged this experience to bring community stakeholders to the table, as collaboration and relationships are key to economic development. I serve on the Board of the Greater Manlius Chamber of Commerce, and am leading discussions on how we can work together to create an economic development plan for our Town to help local businesses to prosper. 

Manlius is home to many beautiful natural resources and community assets, like Green Lakes, and the longest remaining stretch of the old Erie Canal. By adding a tourism component to the town's website, we can promote all that Manlius has to offer to everyone who comes to our community to enjoy these natural resources.

In collaboration with the Chamber, I will help to develop a website that will promote our community assets and natural resources, encouraging and expanding tourism to our region. Anyone visiting our community will be informed on where to eat, shop, and stay, fostering economic development in our Town. 

Civic engagement is vital for a functioning democracy, signifying that those with power should not be the only ones with the ability to make change in their community. I am committed to empowering historically silent and underrepresented members of the Manlius community so that they can have a voice at the table.

As a Town Councilor, I helped to create mechanisms that allow for citizens of the community to have their voice heard, such as Open Podium and public participation in live streamed board meetings. I am committed to continuing this work.

As we embark on writing the Comprehensive Plan, I will ensure that the process is transparent, and is fully aligned with community needs.

I have greatly enjoyed the opportunity to hear from neighborhood groups and committees on their ideas for the future of the Town of Manlius. I commit to expand and grow new neighborhood committees so community members can  have their voices heard, and see their ideas come to fruition.
