Thank you

After weeks of patiently waiting, the results are in! I have officially won re-election to the Manlius Town Board. 

This campaign would not have been successful without your support. To each and every one of you, thank you. Thank you for your contributions, phone calls, postcards, event attendance, social media engagement, and, most importantly, for your vote. I am beyond grateful. Thank you for electing me to serve on the Manlius Town Board! 

I would like to take a moment to personally thank all of the people who made this possible. 

To Hailey Schector, our Campaign Manager, and Chris Brown, our Head of Graphic Design and Communications, thank you for everything. I could not have done this without you. Every compliment I received about how incredible our campaign was, it was because of the two of you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. 

And to the rest of our amazing team, Riya Gupta, Molly Akers, Andi Tausche, Amanda Byrne, Leila Abudl-Malak, Hannah Gates, and Ryan Dunn, words fail me when I try to describe how special you all are. After working with this incredible group of people for almost an entire year- developing our policy platforms, creating our budget, applying for endorsements and knocking on doors, I am so appreciative of their hard work and commitment to this campaign. Thank you, all! 

To my wonderful family, you are my backbone, you are my rock, and you are how I’m able to do the things I do. Without your support, I wouldn’t be here. To my parents, Bill and Kelly, and my siblings Meghan, Gregory, and Michael, who is guiding me from Heaven, I appreciate you more than I could ever say. Thank you.

And finally, to my daughters, Alianna and Vivienne, you are my inspiration. At the end of every long, hard day, you are there for me, and you remind me that no matter what, we have each other. Thank you for being who you are. I love you so much. And thank you for putting up with my crazy work schedule! 

As I was once told, being a Town Councilor is all about trash and brush and plowing and paving, but beyond that, it is a job you make your own. So here is to the next four years! To making this job our own by combating the climate crisis at the local level, addressing economic development in our community, and bringing voices to the table that at long last will finally be heard! 

And as we said to everyone we talked to during this campaign, we’ve only just gotten started.
